Pirates

In some games, it is possible for pirates to make the seas unsafe.

Pirate fleets can consist of all types of ships except galleys, dromons and carracks. During the course of the game, the threat of pirates becomes stronger and stronger if the players do nothing against the pirates. Pirate fleets are always loaded with 10-100% combat troops. An encounter with pirates should therefore not be taken lightly.

Pirate fleets cruise the oceans at random. If a suitable prey comes into sight, the pirates will pursue the enemy fleet until they have captured it.
